reg 1Citation and commencement

These Rules are the Road Traffic (Parking of Heavy Vehicles) (Amendment) Rules 2026 and come into operation on 15 September 2026.

reg 2Amendment of rule 2

In the Road Traffic (Parking of Heavy Vehicles) Rules 2006 (G.N. No. S 61/2006), in rule 2, after the definition of “designated parking space”, insert —“ “eligible parking place” has the meaning given by rule 4 of the Parking Places (Parking of Heavy Vehicles — Lodgement) Rules 2026 (G.N. No. S 609/2026);”.

reg 3Amendment of rule 3

In the Road Traffic (Parking of Heavy Vehicles) Rules 2006, in rule 3(2) —

(a)

in sub‑paragraph (a), delete “or” at the end;

(b)

in sub‑paragraph (b), replace the full‑stop at the end with “; or”; and

(c)

after sub‑paragraph (b), insert —“(c)that is an eligible parking place and all of the following conditions are satisfied:

(i)

a lodgement is made under rule 7(1) of the Parking Places (Parking of Heavy Vehicles — Lodgement) Rules 2026 in respect of the heavy vehicle to park the heavy vehicle at the eligible parking place;

(ii)

the lodgement mentioned in sub‑paragraph (i) has not lapsed pursuant to rule 8 of the Parking Places (Parking of Heavy Vehicles — Lodgement) Rules 2026;

(iii)

the heavy vehicle is parked at the eligible parking place during the period specified in the lodgement.”.
