Section 24

Power to make regulations

(1)

The Minister may make such regulations as the Minister may consider necessary or expedient to give effect to the provisions of this Act and for the due administration of this Act.

(2)

In particular and without limiting the powers conferred by subsection (1), regulations may be made to —

(a)

regulate any advertisement in relation to any totalisator, lottery, betting or gaming activity of —

(i)

the Board;

(ii)

any totalisator agency; or

(iii)

any agent appointed by the Board;

(b)

prescribe the offences which may be compounded; and

(c)

provide that any person who contravenes the regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding $10,000.[21
