Citation and commencement

Citation and commencement
This Order is the Social Residential Homes Act 2025 (Amendment of First Schedule) Order 2026 and comes into operation on 1 July 2026 at 12.01 a.m.
Amendment of First Schedule
In the Social Residential Homes Act 2025, in the First Schedule, in paragraph 2 —
in the definition of “adult disability home”, replace “premises used for the provision of a community hospital service or a nursing home service” with “healthcare premises or premises used as a welfare home”;
after the definition of “adult disability home”, insert —“ “approved permanent premises” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Healthcare Services Act 2020;”;
delete the definition of “community hospital service”;
after the definition of “elderly person”, insert —“ “healthcare premises” means any approved permanent premises used for the provision of any of the following healthcare services under a licence granted under the Healthcare Services Act 2020:
an acute hospital service within the meaning of the First Schedule to the Healthcare Services Act 2020;
a community hospital service within the meaning of the First Schedule to the Healthcare Services Act 2020;
a contingency care service within the meaning of the First Schedule to the Healthcare Services Act 2020;
a nursing home service within the meaning of the First Schedule to the Healthcare Services Act 2020;”;
in the definition of “home for children and young persons”, after “include”, insert “any healthcare premises or”;
delete the definition of “nursing home service”; and
in the definition of “sheltered home”, replace paragraphs (a) and (b) with —“(a)any healthcare premises; or
any premises used as an adult disability home or a welfare home;”.
