Clause 7

Application for or to renew licence

(1)

An application for or to renew a licence must be made to the Director‑General in accordance with this section.

(2)

An application for or to renew a licence must —

(a)

be made in the form and manner specified by the Director‑General;

(b)

be accompanied by a non‑refundable application fee (if prescribed) paid in the manner specified by the Director‑General; and

(c)

be accompanied by the prescribed information and any other additional information that the Director‑General requires to decide on the application.

(3)

In addition, an application to renew a licence must —

(a)

be made no later than a prescribed period before the date of expiry of the licence (if prescribed) (called in this section the renewal deadline), unless otherwise allowed by the Director‑General in any particular case, which must then be treated as a late renewal application; and

(b)

if made later than the renewal deadline, be accompanied by a non‑refundable late renewal application fee (if prescribed) paid in the manner specified by the Director‑General.

(4)

The Director‑General may refuse an application for or to renew a licence —

(a)

that is incomplete or not made in accordance with this section; or

(b)

where an inquiry or investigation mentioned in subsection (5) in relation to the application is refused by the applicant.

(5)

Upon receiving an application for or to renew a licence, the Director‑General may, without limiting section 3(3) —

(a)

carry out, or arrange to be carried out by any authorised officer, any inquiry or investigation in relation to the application that the Director‑General considers necessary for a proper consideration of the application, which may include an inspection of the premises where the applicant intends to operate the licensable SRH to be authorised by the licence; and

(b)

request that the applicant provide, within a specified period, any additional information that the Director‑General requires for a proper consideration of the application.
