Subject to section 18, any land that has been abandoned for 3 years or more by —
the person to whom the land was alienated or demised by or on behalf of the State; or
any person claiming title through a person in paragraph (a),shall be forfeited to the State even though some person may be found in occupation of the land or of any part of that land.
