Amendment of Professional Engineers Act 1991
of Statutes (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 2026 (No. 15 of 2026)
In the Professional Engineers Act 1991, in section 21, after subsection (2), insert —“(2A) Despite subsection (2)(b), the Board may, subject to subsection (2B) and any conditions that the Board may impose, take into account any practical experience acquired by a person before he or she qualifies for registration under subsection (1)(a) or (b), for the purpose of satisfying the requirement for practical experience mentioned in subsection (2)(b).
For the purpose of subsection (2A), the Board may only take into account a person’s practical experience that —
commences on or after 1 January 2026; and
is of such nature and duration as may be prescribed by the Board.”.
