Application for vehicle entry permit at relevant checkpoint by person without vehicle entry card
Subregulation 1
Any person who brings a vehicle into Singapore by way of a relevant checkpoint and who does not have with him a valid vehicle entry card in relation to that vehicle shall, upon arriving at the relevant checkpoint and upon demand by an authorised officer —
produce for the inspection of the authorised officer —
any licence or permit for the use of the vehicle issued by the authority of the country under the laws of which the vehicle was registered; and
such other documentation as the authorised officer may reasonably require; and
provide such information as the authorised officer may reasonably require.
Subregulation 2
If the authorised officer is satisfied that the person or persons in or on the vehicle are only making a temporary stay in Singapore, the authorised officer may, upon payment by the driver of the vehicle of a fee of $10 for a vehicle entry card, grant a vehicle entry permit in respect of that vehicle for such period as the Registrar may determine.
Subregulation 3
Upon the grant of the vehicle entry permit, the authorised officer shall —
cause to be recorded on a vehicle entry card in an electronic form —
the registration number of the vehicle;
the type of vehicle to which it belongs;
the date, time and place of arrival of the vehicle;
the period of validity and other conditions of the vehicle entry permit; and
such other information as the Registrar may determine; and
issue the vehicle entry card to the driver of the vehicle.
Subregulation 4
The Registrar shall keep a record of the information that has been electronically recorded on the vehicle entry card.
