Payment of vehicle entry fees
Subregulation 1
The driver of a relevant vehicle leaving Singapore by way of a relevant checkpoint shall, at the relevant checkpoint, insert the vehicle entry card in relation to that vehicle into a card machine so that —
the vehicle entry fee for that vehicle may be deducted from the stored value of the card;
the vehicle entry permit granted in respect of that vehicle may be cancelled; and
the date and time of departure of the vehicle, and such other information as the Registrar may determine, may be recorded electronically on the vehicle entry card.
Subregulation 2
Upon completion of the transactions referred to in paragraph (1)(a), (b) and (c), the driver of the relevant vehicle may obtain a receipt setting out particulars of the transactions from a designated terminal of the Authority at the relevant checkpoint.
Subregulation 3
Where the vehicle entry card or card machine is defective, the vehicle entry fee shall be paid in such manner as the Registrar considers appropriate.
Subregulation 4
The Registrar may, in his discretion and in such circumstances as he considers appropriate, permit the vehicle entry fee for a relevant vehicle to be paid in any other manner.
Subregulation 5
The vehicle entry fee for a vehicle entry permit granted under rule 20A shall be paid in such manner as the Registrar may determine.
Subregulation 6
The Registrar or an authorised officer may prohibit the entry into or exit from Singapore of any relevant vehicle if the vehicle entry fee for that vehicle is in arrears.
