Regulation 4

Singapore drivers going abroad

Subregulation 1

Subject to paragraph (2), the Automobile Association of Singapore or the Deputy Commissioner of Police may issue for use abroad in a country which is a party to the 1949 Convention an international driving permit in the form set out in the First Schedule.

Subregulation 2

An international driving permit shall not be issued to any person unless he satisfies the Automobile Association of Singapore or the Deputy Commissioner of Police —

(a)

that he is not below 18 years of age; and

(b)

that he is the holder of a driving licence authorising him to drive motor vehicles of the class or type which he would be authorised by the international driving permit to drive.

Subregulation 3

A fee of $20 shall be payable on the issue of an international driving permit.
