Performance applicability — aeroplanes
Subregulation 1
An AOC holder must ensure that a large aeroplane that corresponds to one of the following descriptions is operated in accordance with the specified Performance Class:
a multi‑engine aeroplane powered by turbo‑propeller engines with an MAPSC exceeding 9 must be operated in accordance with Performance Class A; (b)a multi‑engine turbojet‑powered aeroplane must be operated in accordance with Performance Class A; (c)an aeroplane powered by reciprocating engines with an MAPSC exceeding 9 must be operated in accordance with Performance Class C.
Subregulation 2
Despite paragraph (1), where full compliance with paragraph (1) is not possible due to specific design characteristics of a large aeroplane, the AOC holder may apply performance standards —
that ensure a level of safety equivalent to the appropriate Performance Class; and
that are approved by the Director‑General of Civil Aviation.
