Regulation 80
General
Subregulation 1
An AOC holder must ensure that a large aeroplane does not commence a flight unless —
the aeroplane is equipped with the type and number of instruments and equipment that the aeroplane is required to be equipped with under the provisions of this Division; and
the prescribed instruments and equipment, and the manner of their installation, are approved or accepted by the aeroplane’s State of Registry.
Subregulation 2
Where a large aeroplane is registered in Singapore, the AOC holder must ensure that —
a prescribed instrument or item of equipment (other than a prescribed instrument or item of equipment listed in the Second Schedule) that is installed on the aircraft; and
the manner of installation of the instrument or item of equipment described in sub‑paragraph (a),are approved or accepted by the Director‑General of Civil Aviation in accordance with the Air Navigation Order.
Subregulation 3
The Director‑General of Civil Aviation may, in any particular case, direct an AOC holder to carry on any large aeroplane such additional or special equipment or supplies as the Director‑General of Civil Aviation may specify —
to facilitate the navigation of the aircraft;
to carry out search and rescue operations; or
for the survival of any person carried on board the aeroplane.
