Regulation 12
Compliance with Rules of the Air
Subregulation 1
A person who flies or operates a medium free balloon or a heavy free balloon must do so in compliance with the conditions specified in Appendix 5 to Annex 2 to the Chicago Convention.
Subregulation 2
Any person who fails to comply with paragraph (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction —
(a)
for a first offence, to a fine not exceeding $20,000; and
(b)
for a second or subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding $40,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 months or to both.
