Regulation 4

Particulars for label for registered pesticide or vector repellent

Subregulation 1

For the purpose of section 5(2) of the Act and subject to paragraph (2), the prescribed particulars for a label are the following particulars in English:

(a)

the brand and name of the pesticide or vector repellent;

(b)

the composition of the pesticide or vector repellent, including —

(i)

the name of every active ingredient in the pesticide or vector repellent and the percentage (weight by weight) of the active ingredient in the pesticide or vector repellent; and

(ii)

the total percentage (weight by weight) of the inert ingredient or ingredients in the pesticide or vector repellent;

(c)

the formulation code of the pesticide or vector repellent as specified in the Schedule;

(d)

the hazard classification of the pesticide or vector repellent, according to the World Health Organisation Recommended Classification of Pesticides by Hazard; (e)the hazard warning statement or symbol applicable to the pesticide or vector repellent, according to the World Health Organisation Recommended Classification of Pesticides by Hazard; (f)whether the pesticide or vector repellent is for general or restricted use;

(g)

the net weight or volume of the pesticide or vector repellent, whichever is applicable;

(h)

the vector or vectors that the pesticide is intended to control or the vector repellent is intended to repel;

(i)

the date of manufacture of the pesticide or vector repellent;

(j)

the expiry date or shelf life of the pesticide or vector repellent;

(k)

the residual effective period (if any) of the pesticide or vector repellent after a single application of the pesticide or vector repellent, as the case may be;

(l)

any toxicological effect of the pesticide or vector repellent on any organism that is not mentioned in sub‑paragraph (h);

(m)

any safety precaution that must be taken when handling the pesticide or vector repellent;

(n)

the directions for the use of the pesticide or vector repellent;

(o)

the manner of storage and disposal of the pesticide or vector repellent;

(p)

any practical treatment statement and medical instruction to be applied in the case of poisoning or suspected poisoning caused by the pesticide or vector repellent; (q)the name and address of the manufacturer, and the importer, of the pesticide or vector repellent.

Subregulation 2

The particulars in paragraph (1)(l), (m), (o) and (p) may, instead of being specified on the label mentioned in paragraph (1), be specified in a leaflet or brochure that is enclosed within or affixed to the container or package of the pesticide or vector repellent.
