Regulation 23

Punishment for minor offences

Subregulation 1

Any detainee who commits a minor offence under regulation 22 shall, after being given an opportunity to be heard, be liable to be punished by the Director PNSD with one or more of the following punishments: (a)close confinement for a period not exceeding 3 days;

(b)

restricted diet for a period not exceeding 7 days; (c)forfeiture of any privilege granted to the detainee.

Subregulation 2

A detainee under close confinement —

(a)

is not allowed to leave the cell in which the detainee is detained;

(b)

is not allowed to communicate with any person without the permission of the Director PNSD; and (c)is only allowed to read materials authorised by the Director PNSD.
