This Notification may be cited as the Criminal Procedure Code (Qualified Persons) Notification 2010 and shall come into operation on 2nd January 2011.

In this Notification —“explosive” has the meaning given by section 4(1) of the GEWC Act;“GEWC Act” means the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021;“gun” has the meaning given by section 3 of the GEWC Act;“gun accessory” has the meaning given by section 3(5) of the GEWC Act;“licensee” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the GEWC Act.

Qualified persons

For the purposes of section 263 of the Code (report of qualified persons), each of the following persons is a “qualified person”:

(a)

any inspector of weights and measures duly appointed as such under the provisions of any written law;

(b)

any officer of consumer protection duly appointed as such under the provisions of any written law;

(c)

any pathologist;

(d)

any medical practitioner who conducts post-mortem examination under the supervision of a pathologist;

(e)

any Health Sciences Authority officer who undertakes scientific analytical work;

(f)

the Government Bacteriologist;

(g)

the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation;

(h)

any person appointed by the Minister to be a document examiner;

(i)

any Armament Management Manager (Armament & Automotive Management Division) of the Police Logistics Department of the Singapore Police Force;

(j)

the Assistant Director (Armament & Automotive Management Division) of the Police Logistics Department of the Singapore Police Force;

(k)

the Head Armament Management (Armament & Automotive Management Division) of the Police Logistics Department of the Singapore Police Force;

(l)

any officer of the Home Team Science and Technology Agency who assists the Singapore Police Force in the examination of any gun, gun accessory or explosive;

(la)any employee of a licensee who is assigned by the licensee to assist the Singapore Police Force in the examination of any gun, gun accessory or explosive;

(m)

any fingerprint examiner, computer forensic examiner or crime scene examiner of the Singapore Police Force;

(n)

any officer of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority who assists the Singapore Police Force in the examination and verification of any document issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority;

(o)

any radiologist or radiotherapist of the Medical Service;

(p)

any Forensic Science Officer of the Ministry of Defence;

(q)

any registered medical practitioner under the Medical Registration Act (Cap. 174) employed in the Histopathology Section of Singapore General Hospital Pte. Ltd.; (r)any Ministry of Health officer who undertakes scientific analytical work;

(s)

any Casino Gaming Expert (Casino Crime Investigation Branch) of the Singapore Police Force;

(t)

any Gambling Expert (Specialised Crime Branch) of the Singapore Police Force;

(u)

any Triad Expert (Secret Societies Branch) of the Singapore Police Force.
