Citation and commencement
This Order is the Protection from Harassment (Temporary Exemption) Order 2020 and comes into operation on 1 April 2020.
Purpose
The purpose of this Order is to give various prescribed internet intermediaries time to put in place the necessary arrangements and technological measures to enable them to comply with certain requirements of the Act.
Exemptions from section 15C(2)(b) of Act
The prescribed internet intermediaries mentioned in regulation 2(a), (b), (d) and (e) of the Protection from Harassment (Prescribed Internet Intermediaries and Others) Regulations 2020 (G.N. No. S 217/2020) are exempt from section 15C(2)(b) of the Act.
Exemptions from section 15D(2)(b) of Act
The prescribed internet intermediaries mentioned in regulation 3(a), (b), (d) and (e) of the Protection from Harassment (Prescribed Internet Intermediaries and Others) Regulations 2020 are exempt from section 15D(2)(b) of the Act.
Exemptions from section 15E(2)(d) of Act
The prescribed internet intermediaries mentioned in regulation 4(4)(a) (in respect of Instagram only), (d) and (e) of the Protection from Harassment (Prescribed Internet Intermediaries and Others) Regulations 2020 are exempt from section 15E(2)(d) of the Act.
