These Regulations are the Public Transport Council (Saving and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2016 and come into operation on 22 January 2016.

In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —“appointed day” means 22 January 2016;“bus service licence” means a licence granted under section 12 of the Public Transport Council Act (Cap. 259B) as in force before the appointed day;“deemed holder of a Class 2 bus service licence” means the holder of a licence that is, by virtue of Part 1 of the Schedule to the Bus Services Industry Act 2015 (Act 30 of 2015), deemed to be, a Class 2 bus service licence granted by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore under Part 3 of that Act.

Condition on bus fares in bus service licence deemed approved bus fares

Where —

(a)

the Council granted or renewed a bus service licence before the appointed day for any bus service provided by the holder of that bus service licence; (b)the bus service licence is subject to a condition that the holder of that bus service licence must charge bus fares specified in the licence for the bus service; (c)the Council did not before the appointed day revoke the bus service licence; and

(d)

the holder of that bus service licence is a deemed holder of a Class 2 bus service licence for the bus service,every bus fare specified in the bus service licence for the bus service is deemed to be the price of the bus fare approved by the Council under section 24(3) of the Public Transport Council Act for that bus service until 31 December 2016, or the date the Class 2 bus service licence is earlier revoked.
