Regulation 14
Notification of total loss or destruction, etc.
Subregulation 1
The registered responsible person for a registered registrable mobility vehicle that has been —
destroyed or rendered beyond repair as a consequence of damage caused to the mobility vehicle by an accident or other occurrence;
assessed in a vehicle damage assessment as a total loss; or
disposed of as waste at a disposal facility,must notify the Authority of that matter, in a form approved by the Authority, and apply to cancel the registration of the mobility vehicle, not more than 14 days after that occurrence.
Subregulation 2
The registered responsible person for a registered registrable mobility vehicle who, without reasonable excuse, fails to comply with paragraph (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction —
in the case of a first offence, to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to both; and
in the case of a second or subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
