Regulation 3

Exemption for individual who drives or rides mobility vehicles without certificate of medical need

Section 23I(1) of the Act does not apply to —

(a)

an individual who attains the age of 70 years on or before 31 December of the year in which the act mentioned in that provision is done;

(b)

an individual who has received a subsidy under the Seniors’ Mobility and Enabling Fund for the purchase of a mobility scooter;

(c)

an individual who has received a subsidy under the Assistive Technology Fund for the purchase of a mobility scooter; and

(d)

an individual who is subject to a notice (given by a Ministry or department of the Government, a public authority, AIC or SG Enable to the Authority) stating that the individual requires support from any person in carrying out any of the following activities of daily living:

(i)

walking, or moving, from one room to another or on a level surface;

(ii)

transferring himself or herself, or moving, from a bed to an upright chair or a wheelchair, and vice versa.
