Regulation 9

Qualifying service for NCDCC Long Service (10 Years) Medal

Subregulation 1

An NCDCC officer is eligible for the award of the NCDCC Long Service (10 Years) Medal if the NCDCC officer has, on or after 1 January 2005, completed at least 10 years of continuous and unbroken qualifying service, and has regular attendance.

Subregulation 2

A Clasp may be awarded to a recipient of the NCDCC Long Service (10 Years) Medal on the completion of at least 15 years of continuous and unbroken qualifying service and a second Clasp on the completion of at least 20 years of continuous and unbroken qualifying service.

Subregulation 3

The following periods of service are not counted as qualifying service for the purposes of paragraphs (1) and (2):

(a)

the whole period of disruption from service;

(b)

the whole period of service with the Singapore Armed Forces, the Singapore Civil Defence Force, the Singapore Police Force or any other service.

Subregulation 4

Qualifying service for the purposes of paragraphs (1) and (2) must be continuous and unbroken but there is no break in service if the service is interrupted for any of the periods mentioned in paragraph (3).

Subregulation 5

Despite paragraphs (3) and (4), in the case of an NCDCC officer —

(a)

who was previously discharged; and

(b)

who subsequent to his or her discharge, was re‑appointed as an NCDCC officer,whether that NCDCC officer’s period of service before his or her discharge is treated as qualifying service for the purposes of paragraphs (1) and (2) is subject to the approval of the Commandant of the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps.
