Regulation 21

Safe provision of specified anaesthetics

A licensee must ensure that —

(a)

any specified anaesthetic that is administered to a patient is administered in a proper, effective and safe manner;

(b)

the patient or the patient’s caregiver is informed of all relevant pre-procedure care instructions before the specified anaesthetic is administered; and

(c)

appropriate post-procedure care instructions are given to the patient or the patient’s caregiver, including the patient’s care needs and the signs and symptoms of possible adverse reactions that the patient may experience after the administration of any type of anaesthetic.
