reg 1Citation and commencement

These Rules are the Town Councils (Exclusion of Property from Definition of Common Property) (Amendment) Rules 2026 and come into operation on 12 October 2026.

reg 2Amendment of rule 2

In the Town Councils (Exclusion of Property from Definition of Common Property) Rules 2017 (G.N. No. S 557/2017), in rule 2 —

(a)

in the definition of “Community Care Apartments”, delete “the category of”; and

(b)

after the definition of “housing estate under construction”, insert —“ “launch date”, for a development, means the date specified by the Board on or after which persons may apply to purchase the flats that will be built as part of the development;”.

reg 3Amendment of rule 3

In the Town Councils (Exclusion of Property from Definition of Common Property) Rules 2017, in rule 3, replace paragraph (c) with —“(c)any communal space in a building that —

(i)

comprises Community Care Apartments; and

(ii)

was built as part of a development with a launch date before 31 December 2025.”.
