Section 17

Registration of series of trade marks

(1)

A person may make a single application under section 5 for the registration of a series of trade marks.

For the purposes of this Act, “series of trade marks” means a number of trade marks which resemble each other as to their material particulars and which differ only as to matters of a non‑distinctive character not substantially affecting the identity of the trade mark.

If the application meets all the requirements under this Act and the Registrar is required under section 15 to register the trade marks, the Registrar must register them as a series in one registration.
