Exemption in relation to specified autonomous vehicle
of Active Mobility (National Parks Board — Exemption for Jurong Lake Gardens) Order 2026
Section 17(1) of the Act does not apply to an individual who initiates the operation and movement of a specified autonomous vehicle on a public path within Jurong Lake Gardens, under all of the following conditions:
the individual is authorised by the National Parks Board to initiate the operation and movement of the vehicle;
before initiating the operation and movement of the vehicle, the individual has ensured that —
the vehicle is programmed to be used only for a specified purpose; and
the vehicle is programmed to move at a speed not exceeding 6 km/h;
there is in force, at any time the vehicle is used in connection with a specified purpose, a policy of insurance in relation to the vehicle insuring against any liability in respect of —
the death of or any bodily injury sustained by any person (whether or not including an individual exempt under this paragraph); and
any property damage suffered by any person (whether or not including an individual exempt under this paragraph),caused by or arising out of the use of the vehicle;
the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (c) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time the policy is issued, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore.
