94A. Marriage preparation programme

This section applies to every person within a class of persons prescribed by rules made under section 145 as persons who must attend a marriage preparation programme.

“attend” includes the appearance by any person using any electronic means of communication permitted by the Syariah Court, an Appeal Board, a Kadi or a Naib Kadi;
An application cannot be made to a Kadi or Naib Kadi for the solemnisation of the marriage of a person to whom this section applies, unless the person satisfies the Kadi or Naib Kadi (as the case may be) that the person, and the other party to the proposed marriage, have attended together and completed a marriage preparation programme.
In this section, “marriage preparation programme” means a marriage preparation programme which satisfies the description specified in the rules made under section 145.
