New section 46B
The principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately before section 47, the following section:“Divorce by husband’s pronouncement46B.—
(1)
A married man may apply to the Court for a divorce in accordance with the Muslim law.(2) Upon receiving an application under subsection (1), the Court must cause a summons to be served on the wife concerned.(3) If the man pronounces a divorce, and the Court is satisfied that the divorce is valid in accordance with the Muslim law, the Court must, on payment of the prescribed fees, cause the divorce to be registered.”.
