Operational control and compliance with air traffic control

The pilot-in-command of a relevant aircraft is responsible for the operational control of the aircraft.

The pilot-in-command of a relevant aircraft for a flight is also responsible for communicating by radio or data link with, and for complying with air traffic control instructions received for the flight from, the appropriate air traffic control unit, unless regulation 41(2) applies.
