100F. Composition of offences
Feedback & supportThe Registrar may compound any offence under this Act or the rules made under this Act that is prescribed as a compoundable offence by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding the lower of the following:
Registrar
“Registrar” means the Registrar of Co‑operative Societies appointed under section 3(1), and includes a Deputy Registrar, an Assistant Registrar, or a public officer appointed under section 3(1), exercising such function, duty or power of the Registrar as is delegated to the Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar or public officer (as the case may be) under section 3(2);
one half of the amount of the maximum fine that is prescribed for the offence;
$5,000.
On payment of the sum of money, no further proceedings may be taken against that person in respect of the offence.
