16. Application of State Courts Act 1970 and other written laws

Subject to this Act and except as otherwise provided in any regulations made under section 33 —
the provisions of the State Courts Act 1970 apply to the Community Disputes Resolution Tribunals;
unless the context otherwise requires, any reference in any written law to a District Court or a State Court includes a reference to a Community Disputes Resolution Tribunal; and
court
“court” means a court of competent jurisdiction and includes a Community Disputes Resolution Tribunal;
unless the context otherwise requires, any reference in any written law to a District Judge or a judicial officer includes a reference to a tribunal judge.

“Community Disputes Resolution Tribunal” or “tribunal” means a District Court designated under section 14 as a Community Disputes Resolution Tribunal;
