13. Settlement or agreement to be reduced to writing

The terms of any settlement or agreement reached at, or drawn up pursuant to, a mediation session must, if the mediator thinks fit, be reduced to writing and signed by or on behalf of the parties to the mediation session.

“mediation session” means a meeting in accordance with this Act between 2 or more parties who are in dispute on any matter;

No settlement or agreement is binding on the parties to a mediation session unless it has been reduced to writing with a statement signed by or on behalf of the parties to this effect.
