What is an adaptation of a literary or dramatic work
An “adaptation” of a literary work is —
in relation to a literary work in a non‑dramatic form — a version of the work (whether in its original language or in a different language) in a dramatic form;
in relation to a literary work in a dramatic form — a version of the work (whether in its original language or in a different language) in a non‑dramatic form;
in relation to a literary work being a computer program — a version of the work (whether or not in the language, code or notation in which the work was originally expressed) that is not a copy of the work; and
in relation to any literary work (whether in a non‑dramatic form or dramatic form) —
a translation of the work; or
a version of the work in which a story or an action is conveyed wholly or mainly through pictures.
