Section 53
(1)
Except for the purpose of the performance of his duties or the exercise of his functions or when lawfully required to do so by any court or under the provisions of any written law, no authorised officer shall disclose any information or matter which has been obtained by him in the performance of his duties or the exercise of his functions under this Act.
(2)
Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
