Regulation 1

Citation and commencement

This Notification is the Films (Classification — Exempt Films Other than Video Games) (Amendment) Notification 2026 and, except for paragraphs 2(a) to (d), 3(a) and 4, comes into operation on 1 May 2026.

Paragraphs 2(a) to (d), 3(a) and 4 are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Regulation 2

Amendment of paragraph 2

In the Films (Classification — Exempt Films Other than Video Games) Notification 2019 (G.N. No. S 338/2019) (called in this Notification the principal Notification), in paragraph 2(1) —

(a)

in the definitions of “free-to-air broadcasting service” and “subscription nationwide television service”, replace “(Cap. 28)” with “1994”;

(b)

in the definition of “health-related goods or services”, in paragraph (a), replace “(Cap. 122D)” with “2007”;

(c)

in the definition of “health-related goods or services”, in paragraph (b), replace “(Cap. 177)” with “1955”;

(d)

in the definition of “health-related goods or services”, in paragraph (c), replace “(Cap. 309)” with “1993”;

(e)

in the definition of “health-related goods or services”, replace paragraph (c) with —“(c)any tobacco product, imitation tobacco product or vaporiser within the meanings given by section 2(1) of the Tobacco and Vaporisers Control Act 1993;”; and

(f)

in the definition of “psychoactive substance”, after “volatile solvent,”, insert “and includes any specified psychoactive substance within the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Tobacco and Vaporisers Control Act 1993,”.

Amendment of paragraph 3

In the principal Notification, in paragraph 3 —

(a)

in sub-paragraph (1)(h), after “Broadcasting Act”, insert “1994”; and

(b)

in sub-paragraph (2)(c)(ii), after “smoking,”, insert “vaporiser use,”.

Amendment of paragraph 6

In the principal Notification, in paragraph 6, after “Broadcasting Act”, insert “1994”.
