88. Power to compound offences

The Commissioner may, in his discretion, compound such offence under this Act as may be prescribed as being an offence which may be compounded by accepting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $1,000.

“Commissioner” means the Commissioner for Labour appointed under section 3 of the Employment Act 1968, and includes a Deputy Commissioner for Labour, a Principal Assistant Commissioner for Labour and an Assistant Commissioner for Labour under that Act;
