Recommendations to Superintendent for discipline or treatment of detained persons
Subregulation 1
A medical officer for a place of detention must give a written report to the Superintendent of the place of detention about the medical condition of any detained person in the place of detention to which, in the medical officer’s opinion, the Superintendent’s attention should be drawn.
Subregulation 2
A medical officer for a place of detention may recommend, for medical reasons —
a change in the discipline or treatment of any detained person in the place of detention; or
that additional articles be given to any detained person in the place of detention, and the Superintendent of the place of detention must, so far as is practicable, ensure that the recommendation is carried out.
