Refund of deposit when building operations are not commenced
(1)
Any person who has made a deposit under section 24(5), and who subsequently decides not to proceed with the erection of any building, without having commenced any building operations, may give notice in the prescribed form to the Director-General of his intention not to proceed with the erection of the building.
(2)
A copy of such a notice shall be served upon the Building Authority. The Building Authority shall, upon receipt of the notice, cancel the approval of the plans and specifications in respect of the proposed building.
(3)
The Director-General shall, on an application in the prescribed form by a person who has given such a notice, refund the deposit or part thereof as he may determine.[26
