Exemption of agent who has no funds in hand
(1)
No person receiving the rent of premises as receiver or agent for another person shall be liable to do anything by this Act required to be done by the owner of the premises if, after he or the actual owner has been required to do any work, the person gives notice to the authority, within 7 days after the requisition has been made, that he has not sufficient funds of the person on whose behalf he is receiving the rents to pay for the work.
(2)
In such case the authority may himself execute the work and the expenses incurred thereby shall be charged and recoverable as provided in section 64.[101
