Regulation 25

Duration of practising certificate

Subregulation 1

Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (2), a practising certificate shall be valid for a period not exceeding 24 months from the date it is issued or renewed, as specified therein.

Subregulation 2

A practising certificate may be granted or renewed for a period of 12 months or less from the date it is issued or renewed, as specified therein, only if —

(a)

the practitioner applied for the grant or renewal of a practising certificate valid for 12 months or less;

(b)

the Medical Council is satisfied that the practitioner is unlikely to practise in Singapore for more than 12 months; or

(c)

the Medical Council is satisfied that it is not in the public interest for the practitioner to hold a practising certificate valid for more than 12 months.
