Section 67

A seaman’s lien and a crew member’s remedies for the recovery of his or her wages, his or her right to wages in case of the wreck or loss of his or her ship, and any right he or she may have or obtain in the nature of salvage is not capable of being renounced by any agreement.

Subsection (1) does not affect such term of any agreement made with a crew member belonging to a ship which, in accordance with the agreement, is to be employed on salvage service, as provide for the remuneration to be paid to the crew member for salvage services rendered by that ship.
