Publication of notices, etc.
(1)
Where any notice is required by this Act to be published and, in the opinion of the authority who is required to publish the notice, the prescribed mode of publication does not give sufficient publicity to the notice, the authority may, in addition to publishing the notice as required by this Act, exhibit copies of the notice in conspicuous places within the electoral division to which the notice relates or take such other steps as the authority may consider necessary for giving publicity to the notice.
(2)
Every person who, without lawful authority, destroys, mutilates, defaces or removes any notice which is exhibited by any authority under subsection (1) or any document which is made available for inspection in accordance with this Act shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000.
(3)
The offence under subsection (2) is an arrestable offence within the meaning of the Criminal Procedure Code 2010.
