Loss of or damage to arm, equipment, etc., to be made good by stoppage from pay
If any police officer pawns, sells, loses by neglect, makes away with or wilfully or negligently damages any arm, ammunition, accoutrement, uniform or other article supplied to him, or any vehicle or property committed to his charge, he may, in addition to or in substitution for any other penalty, be ordered to make good, either partially or wholly, the value of such property or the amount of such loss or damage, as the case may be, and such value or such amount may be recovered by stoppage from his pay.
