Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Prisons (Lock-ups in Specified Court Houses) (Amendment) Regulations 2026 and come into operation on 1 June 2026.

Prisons (Lock-ups in Specified Court Houses) (Amendment) Regulations 2026 is Singapore Subsidiary Legislation, cited as Subsidiary Legislation S313 2026, currently marked in force and first recorded in 2026.
Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Prisons (Lock-ups in Specified Court Houses) (Amendment) Regulations 2026 and come into operation on 1 June 2026.
Amendment of regulation 2
In the Prisons (Lock-ups in Specified Court Houses) Regulations 2011 (G.N. No. S 595/2011) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 2 —
in the definition of “authorised officer”, in paragraph (b), replace “his custody” with “the auxiliary police officer’s custody”; and
delete the definition of “auxiliary police officer”.
Amendment of regulation 11
In the principal Regulations, in regulation 11 —
in paragraph (3)(a), replace “he” with “the lock‑up prisoner”; and
in paragraph (4), replace “him” with “the officer‑in‑charge”.
Amendment of regulation 12
In the principal Regulations, in regulation 12 —
in paragraph (1)(a) and (b), replace “his” with “the visitor’s”; and
in paragraph (4), replace “he shall record the grounds of his refusal” with “the prison officer must record the grounds of the prison officer’s refusal”.
Amendment of regulation 15
In the principal Regulations, in regulation 15, replace “his” with “the lock‑up prisoner’s”.
Amendment of regulation 18
In the principal Regulations, in regulation 18(1), after “himself”, insert “or herself”.
Miscellaneous amendments
In the principal Regulations, in the following provisions, replace “Director” with “Commissioner”: Regulation 4(1) and (2) Regulation 7(1)(b) Regulation 9(a) Regulation 10 Regulation 11(2) and (3) Regulation 16(1) Regulation 17 Regulation 18(4).
