33. Composition of offences
Feedback & supportThe licensing officer may compound any offence under this Act that is prescribed as a compoundable offence by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding the lower of the following:
licensing officer
“licensing officer”, in relation to any provision in this Act, means any licensing officer appointed under section 4(1) for the purposes of that provision, and includes any assistant licensing officer appointed by such a licensing officer under section 4(2) and subject to the licensing officer’s direction and control;
one half of the amount of the maximum fine that is prescribed for the offence; or
$2,000.
On payment of the sum of money, no further proceedings are to be taken against that person in respect of the offence.
All sums collected under this section must be paid to the Consolidated Fund.
