Powers of Council
of Public Transport Council Act 1987
(1)
The Council has power to do anything for the purpose of discharging its functions under this Act or which is incidental or conducive to the discharge of those functions and, in particular, may —
grant ticket payment service licences and supervise and enforce compliance with the terms of those licences; and
appoint and employ on such terms and conditions as the Council may determine such officers, employees and agents as the Council thinks fit for the effective performance of its functions.
(2)
The Council must furnish the Minister with information with respect to its property and activities in such manner and at such times as the Minister may require.[5
