40. Appointment of radiation safety officer

Every licensee may, subject to the approval of the Director‑General, appoint an individual, who has satisfactorily undertaken a course of study in the use of radiation monitoring equipment and the principles of radiation safety or equivalent experience as a radiation safety officer for the purposes of supervising the use or custody of any irradiating apparatus for any work he is licensed to do.
