Information for carriers

Subregulation 1

The consignor shall provide in the transport documents a statement, in such languages as the carrier deems necessary, regarding safety and the actions, if any, that are required to be taken by the carrier including the following:

(a)

supplementary operational requirements for loading, stowage, transport, handling and unloading of the package, overpack or freight container including any special stowage provisions for the safe dissipation of heat, or a statement that no such requirements are necessary;

(b)

restrictions on the mode of transport or conveyance and any necessary routing instructions; and

(c)

emergency arrangements setting out the plan of action to be taken in the event of an emergency involving the consignment.

Subregulation 2

The consignor shall, at the request of the carrier, furnish all certificates of approval issued in respect of the consignment to the carrier before loading, unloading and any transhipment.
