Functions of Corporation

The functions of the Corporation are —
(a)
to construct the Mass Rapid Transit System and to operate it having regard to the reasonable requirements of the public transport system of Singapore;
(b)
to approve and regulate the operation of the Mass Rapid Transit System by any licensee having regard to the reasonable requirements of the public transport system of Singapore; and
(c)
to engage in such other activities, and to perform such functions as the Minister may, after consultation with the Corporation, permit or assign to it by order published in the Gazette.
