Regulation 4
Safety of persons carried in goods vehicles
Subregulation 1
No passenger shall, while being carried on or being permitted to ride on a goods vehicle, allow any part of his body to project beyond the side of the vehicle.
Subregulation 2
Subject to rule 7, no person shall drive, or cause or permit a person to drive, a goods vehicle while any person is standing in it.
Subregulation 3
No person shall drive, or cause or permit a person to drive, a goods vehicle which is carrying any load if the load is in such position that danger is likely to be caused to any passenger riding on the goods vehicle by reason of the load or any part thereof falling onto the passenger.
Subregulation 4
No person shall drive, or cause or permit a person to drive, a goods vehicle which has no open deck for the carriage of goods while carrying any passengers seated in or on any part of the vehicle if the height of the passenger, when sitting, exceeds 3.2 metres from the road surface upon which the goods vehicle rests.
Subregulation 5
No owner of a goods vehicle shall allow the goods vehicle to be driven in contravention of paragraph (2), (3) or (4).
