Definitions
In this Order —“chauffeured private hire car” means a motor car that —
does not ply for hire on any road; and
is hired, or made available for hire, under a contract (express or implied) for use as a whole with a driver for the purpose of conveying the hirer, and one or more passengers (if any), in that car;“SBO 2026” means the event known as the KFF Singapore Badminton Open 2026 taking place in Singapore between 26 May 2026 and 31 May 2026 (both dates inclusive);“specified person” means the company incorporated under the Companies Act 1967 as Comfort Transportation Pte Ltd (UEN 199303821R).
“chauffeured private hire car” means a motor car that —
does not ply for hire on any road; and
is hired, or made available for hire, under a contract (express or implied) for use as a whole with a driver for the purpose of conveying the hirer, and one or more passengers (if any), in that car;
“SBO 2026” means the event known as the KFF Singapore Badminton Open 2026 taking place in Singapore between 26 May 2026 and 31 May 2026 (both dates inclusive);
“specified person” means the company incorporated under the Companies Act 1967 as Comfort Transportation Pte Ltd (UEN 199303821R).
Exemption
Sections 101, 106 and 107 of the Act, and Parts II and VI of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Rules (R 14), do not apply to, or in relation to, any vehicle bearing a chassis number and an engine number specified in the Schedule that is used as a chauffeured private hire car between 22 May 2026 and 1 June 2026 (both dates inclusive) in connection with the SBO 2026, if all of the following conditions are satisfied in relation to the vehicle:
the use of the vehicle is directed or permitted by the specified person;
the label issued by the Registrar is displayed on the vehicle in the manner required by the Registrar;
there is in force, at any time the vehicle is used on any road, a policy of insurance in relation to the use of the vehicle as a chauffeured private hire car, insuring against any liability in respect of —
the death of or bodily injury sustained by any person (whether or not including the driver); and
any property damage suffered by any person (whether or not including the driver),caused by or arising out of the use of that vehicle;
the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (c) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time the policy is issued, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore;
the vehicle and any of its accessories or appurtenances are clean, in proper repair and in good order and condition at all times.
