2. Definitions

In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires —“building” has the same meaning as in section 2(1) of the Building Control Act (Cap. 29);“building works” means —
the erection, extension or demolition of a building; or
the alteration, addition or repair of a building,and includes site formation works and any other kind of building operation connected with or carried out for the purpose of paragraph (a) or (b);“designated parking space”, in relation to a heavy vehicle, means the designated parking space for the time being procured for the parking of the heavy vehicle under the Parking Places Act (Cap. 214);“eligible parking place” has the meaning given by rule 4 of the Parking Places (Parking of Heavy Vehicles — Lodgement) Rules 2026 (G.N. No. S 609/2026);“specified period” means the period between midnight and 6 a.m. of any day;“street works” has the same meaning as in section 2 of the Street Works Act (Cap. 320A).
